I’ve been putting off my Baguio trip plan the past few weeks because of work and events. The idea of traveling alone has always been lingering my mind and it gives me that burning desire to fulfill it. Days passed by like a blur and the trip just slipped my mind, too consumed with stress and problems at home.
But God is really spoiling me silly. Got this email from a PR company inviting me to review a hotel in Baguio for 3 days, How awesome is that? Although I wont be traveling alone but my desire to visit Baguio became a reality!
Sharing our blogger staycation experience!
DAY 1
I think my butt felt sore from sitting in the van for 6 hours straight, coupled with dizziness plus hunger. All complaints forgotten when we finally arrived at Azalea Hotels and Residences because we were greeted by their warm welcome. By the way, Azalea Hotels and Residences is situated in Wood Loop (near Teacher’s Camp) This is a serviced hotel which was rated 4 star and is one of the popular hotels in Baguio. So if ever you’ll visit Baguio, I suggest you book at Azalea Hotels. I want you to experience their exceptional customer service!
Perfect for total relaxing during the evening. 🙂
Lunch was served in their in-house restaurant Tradisyon. You can just imagine how hungry we were! But being bloggers, we had to take photos of the food first for our articles and for the purpose of the Instagram contest as well.
Diet forgotten, I tried each and every dish served in front of me. It is indeed pinoy comfort food for the hunger dissipated and I felt like my energy was renewed. These food are all awesomely delicious I swear! Not an exaggeration. I was super tired coz I haven’t gotten much sleep from last night but you know, the staff at Azalea are just so awesomely trained for their good customer service that I felt so special. I can say that they went and did that extra mile when it comes to making their customer feel really important.
After having our hearty lunch, the Azalea Hotel staff gave us a tour around the place. The hotel is immaculately clean and very well-kept.
Azalea Hotel is perfect for long vacations, ideally a week or two. If you feel like cooking for your own dish instead, they do have available kitchen utensils and other kitchen appliance like a rice cooker and a coffee maker.
I love this room in particular. The idea of having a family room where you won’t have to think of where your baby’s gonna sleep since they have included a crib for your cute cuddly one to sleep in. 🙂 It’s very rare for a hotel to think of this concept right?
Family won’t get bored with these board games after a tiring day from exploring Baguio
Of course, I wouldn’t pass up an opportunity to take a photo of myself inside our room. I decided to sleep in the sofa bed because I’m kind of scared to be alone in a room. My third eye is almost open and I can sense these entities trying to call my attention. This is Baguio, if you know what I mean (I know I’m just really weird.)
After we were given a few minutes to settle down in our rooms, we went to Ililikha Art Village for a dose of Baguio art.
ILILIKHA ART VILLAGE
I have always been interested with these artists from Baguio. Their lifestyle is just so different from the normal people I have encountered in my life. It’s amazing how a thing that is considered garbage to some can be transformed into a work of art.
These artists and their families lived in this village. I find it really cool.
Jason Dumling and his wooden sitar. Very cultural.
I chatted with these artists for a few minutes and learned some interesting things about their lifestyle, their principles and culture. I met Sirk, Tara, Dumay, Matthew, Santos, Jason and Job. I didn’t include their last name though for privacy. I’m now friends with them on Facebook! So next time Ill be back in Baguio, Ill make sure to visit them again and learn more things about their lifestyle.
We had a little healthy veggie snack
Just to let you know, these trips are a part of the Azalea Hotels and Residences Itinerary. So if I were you, you may visit their website AZALEA BAGUIO to know more about their rates and deals.
TAM-AWAN VILLAGE
The Tam-Awan Village is located in Pimsao, which showcased the ifugao huts and the Baguio arts and crafts. It is surrounded by lush gardens and forest. Tam-Awan means “Vantage point”
The other bloggers were pretty tired but I am determined to check out the place. Took a few photos and had a little alone time near the little bridge.
Cant help but post a selfie with this as my backdrop!
First time someone drew my face in charcoal! I got really excited about the outcome although It came out looking like I’m pissed off on someone.
Meet my artist 🙂
The artist told me not to look at him while he’s making a sketch of my face because it gets him distracted. I’m not used to someone staring at my face that long so I stared at him too. We did a little staring game. Lol.
And voila! My face came out looking like this. Haha
Check out some other cool stuff like these paintings. I’m very impressed with the ifugaos (and the Baguio people in general) I just wonder where they get these talents. I’ve always been a frustrated artist. I cannot even draw a simple looking cute dog. It always end up looking like an alien.
Tea time for bloggers!
So far, that’s what we had for Day 1. We went back to the hotel and had a very delicious dinner.
Watch out for my Day 2 post in this 3-day Baguio trip courtesy of Azalea Hotels and Residences. Too much photo overload I know but I want to share my experience as best as I could.
Summer isn’t over yet. You may book your accommodation now.
Check out AZALEA BAGUIO and experience Baguio like you’ve never experienced before.
